Tenure-Track Faculty - Health Sciences

Rider University has recently expanded its investment in STEM education and is in the process of building new infrastructure and academic programs.  As a result, the Department of Biology, Behavioral Neuroscience, and Health Sciences in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences is recruiting for five full-time faculty positions: two in Biology, one in Health Science, and two in Exercise Science.  Further information about the Department can be found at https://www.rider.edu/academics/colleges-schools/college-liberal-arts-education-sciences/science-programs/biology-behavioral-neuroscience-health-sciences.

The following is an announcement for candidates for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Health Sciences to begin September 2019.

 

Candidates must have a PhD or other terminal degree in their field of study, experience teaching undergraduate students, and the ability to engage undergraduates in an active, independent research program.  Preferred candidates will have a record of outstanding teaching of diverse populations of undergraduates and clinical and/or post-doctoral experience.  Candidates with clinical doctorates will be considered based on the entirety of their professional experience.  The precise area of specialization is open, though candidates with professional (clinical) experience in clinical sciences such as public and population health, physical therapy, occupational therapy or nursing are preferred.

 

Responsibilities for this position will include contributing to the development and instruction of courses, including internships, in the Health Sciences major; developing an active, independent research program engaging undergraduate students (clinically-oriented research experience is preferred); serving as an academic advisor for students, and providing value to the Department, College, and University.  Willingness to work collaboratively with other faculty and to mentor students from a wide range of cultural and academic backgrounds is essential.
