Benefits Coordinator
The Claremont Colleges Services (TCCS) is the central coordinating and support organization for a highly regarded cluster of seven independent colleges known as The Claremont Colleges. TCCS, with about 300 staff members, provides exceptional shared services to 9,000 students, and almost 3,600 faculty and staff. TCCS staff work in both student-facing services as well as administrative and operational services. Our numerous departments are located throughout The Claremont Colleges campus in the beautiful city of Claremont, California.
ABOUT THE POSITION:
This position is responsible for providing clerical support for the daily administration of the Benefits Administration department at The Claremont Colleges Services, primarily focusing on the annual Open Enrollment Process and any post Open Enrollment processes and transactions. Incumbent will interact with faculty, staff, providers, human resources offices, and payroll offices to ensure all employee benefit transactions are processed in accordance with established criteria. Works independently with minimal supervision and reports directly to the Benefits Administration Supervisor.

The following qualifications must be met in order to meet the requirements: Minimum education requirement is any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School diploma with additional courses and training or any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability.

Work Schedule: The regular hours for this full-time position are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday-Friday. Holiday, weekend, and evening work hours may be required. Regular hours may vary due to the needs of the organization or business unit. The position is hybrid, except for the annual Open Enrollment period which will require the applicant to be onsite.
COMPENSATION:
Pay : The hourly rate for this position is competitive and commensurate with the duties, responsibilities, and qualifications required for the position, between $26 to $27.88 per hour.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Answers email and telephone inquiries from faculty and staff. Keeps a log of each to produce department metrics reports.
- Assists with benefits enrollment, handling documentation, collecting information, entering data and providing customer service.
- Assists the Benefits Administration Director, Supervisor and Administrators with special projects related to Open Enrollment.
- Handling questions, issues and providing detailed information on requirements, processes and policies related to health and welfare plans.
- Provide guidance related to plan offerings to faculty and staff.
QUALIFICATIONS
The following qualifications must be met in order to meet the requirements: Minimum education requirement is any combination of education and experience equivalent to High School diploma with additional courses and training or any combination of education, training or experience that provides the required knowledge, skills and ability.
Other requirements are
- Experience with Workday or other human capital management software
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written. Spanish speaking preferred.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to work well with diverse internal and external constituents in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to share knowledge and information and to learn new tasks.
- Knowledge of employer sponsored health and welfare plans, COBRA, Medicare, and IRS rules.

- 1-3 years of Benefit Administration.
- Experience and knowledge of Workday.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office

- Ability to read and write fluently in Spanish and English
