Position description

Applications are invited for one full-time tenure track Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management/Logistics, position number 128600. The position is available with an August 2024 start date, dependent upon university funding. Primary teaching duties will be undergraduate and graduate courses in Supply Chain Management/Logistics (face-to-face and online) and other related courses to adequately provide a good foundation in Supply Chain Management/Logistics and to prepare students for other classes within the department and the College of Business.  

 

The University of West Florida, located in Pensacola, FL, primarily emphasizes quality teaching. In addition, faculty members are expected to publish in quality refereed journals, maintain AACSB academic qualifications, perform career and academic counseling, and serve on departmental, college, and university committees. A normal teaching load is three courses per semester. This position may require teaching at the nearby Fort Walton Beach campus of the university (approximately 50 miles east of the Pensacola campus). Opportunities for summer teaching are normally available. Salary is AACSB competitive and will be commensurate with experience.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree from an AACSB-accredited institution in Supply Chain Management/Logistics or a closely-related field, including at least 18 graduate semester hours in Supply Chain Management/Logistics and a strong commitment to teaching, academic research, and service.
  • Pertinent work experience, continuing professional development, and an active research agenda to maintain qualifications for performing teaching assignments.
  • Relevant teaching experience, including proven effectiveness in online course development and teaching.
  • Evidence of potential for quality scholarship, including publication in qualifying academic journals.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in Supply Chain Management/Logistics from an AACSB-accredited institution. Education must be coupled with pertinent work experience, continuing professional development, and a robust research agenda.
  • Coursework or work experience in the Supply Chain Strategy-related topics. Teaching experience and/or scholarship regarding Supply Chain Strategy are desirable.
  • Relevant teaching experience, to include proven effectiveness in online course development and teaching.
