Assistant Director, Friends of SCAD

As the Friends of SCAD assistant director, you will develop and implement engagement opportunities to leverage SCADstory and SCAD FASH through relationships with previous honorary degree recipients and SCAD guests. You will design and organize outreach projects for SCAD, conduct tours and serve as host for high-level university guests, and provide a minimum of three campus tours per week to guests who do not have a current relationship with SCAD. As the assistant director you will provide support and guidance to staff to ensure an elevated guest experience across the university. You will also actively invite community members to events generating attendance, ticket sales, and investment in SCAD programming.

In this position, you will work with multiple departments to promote the university and distribute information to businesses, organizations, and other appropriate entities in Savannah, Atlanta, and more. You will be expected to foster excellent relationships with key internal and external partners and maintain frequent contact with industry guests and business leaders to keep them up to date with SCAD news. As the assistant director you will maintain and build upon a database of contacts who have visited or engaged with any of SCAD's locations or projects. Additionally, you will generate interest in SCAD and encourage applications.

Minimum Qualifications:     

  • Bachelor's degree in related field with at least three years of external/VIP relations experience
  • Ability to build relationships across various organizations for successful partnership
  • Passion for brand advocacy with a creative and demonstrated ability to deliver results
  • Successful experience in fundraising, donor outreach, and donor data reporting
  • Outstanding organizational and communication skills


Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Film and TV experience
  • Giving experience


Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license


Travel Required:

  • 10-20%


Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
