SCAD Story Shop and Operations Coordinator

As the shop and operations coordinator, you will be responsible for the restocking, storage, display, and supply ordering of the retail shop. In this position you will work in concert with the other leadership positions to provide superior customer service while enhancing the mission and image of SCAD. Responsibilities include assisting with the training and supervision of student staff, the organization of all store operations, allocating responsibilities to personnel, staff scheduling, and business reporting. The coordinator will be expected to execute start and end-of-day procedures; accurately check-in and register guests; supervise the facilitation of events; maintain knowledge about the university; and be conversant about SCAD by positively engaging visitors with information regarding the university’s history, mission, and vision.

It is essential in this position that you can maintain functionality, cleanliness, and the sanitization efforts of the SCADstory boutique experience. The ideal candidate should be familiar with POS/inventory control services to train docents, the operations manager, and assistant manager on its usage. Additionally, you will serve as a role model to students by demonstrating strong customer service behavior, working work well with others, and promoting institutional awareness to further SCAD’s positive reputation.

Minimum Qualifications:   
  • Bachelor’s degree or at least one year of related experience; equivalent combination of both
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, organization, verbal, written, customer service, and time management skills
  • Must pay close attention to detail and possess ability to exercise good judgment while demonstrating high quality standards and accuracy of work
  • Familiarity with store operations
