Assistant Professor in Business Analytics

ABOUT THE POSITION: The College of Business at The University of Alabama in Huntsville invites applications for multiple tenure track positions in business analytics or closely related field at the assistant professor level. We seek applicants who welcome the challenges and rewards of serving on a diverse and intellectually curious faculty of a growing college located in a dynamic and supportive high technology community.    

Responsibilities: Conduct and publish high quality scholarly research in a collegial environment in which both intra- and inter-disciplinary collaboration is valued. Teach graduate and undergraduate courses in business analytics, statistics, management science, operations management, and supply chain management as needed to support the college’s MBA, business analytics, supply chain management, and information systems graduate programs, and undergraduate business programs. Participate actively in the profession, university service and outreach to the local community.

Qualifications: A PhD in Business Analytics, Management Science, Operations, Information Systems or a closely related field and the ability to teach graduate and undergraduate analytics topics is required. Strong background in big data analytics and machine learning is preferred for one of the positions. The successful candidate will have a strong academic background, be able to conduct research that is publishable in high quality journals, and have a commitment to excellence in graduate and undergraduate education.  ABD candidates will be considered, but doctorate must be completed by the start of the 2018 academic year.

Appointment Date: Fall 2019
