Westminster College, a comprehensive private liberal arts college in Salt Lake City, Utah serving students for nearly 150 years, is seeking a new Vice President of Enrollment Management. The Vice President will join Westminster at a transformative time, working closely with the new president, Bethami (Beth) Dobkin, to help shape an institution around pillars of academic quality, diversity, and student experience. This is an opportunity to play a lead role in a developing senior leadership team and to influence broad campus policy regarding student recruitment and retention. Working to shape incoming classes, leverage financial aid, and collaborate across the institution, the new Vice President will help guide enrollment strategy and ultimately the future of Westminster College. As the only private liberal arts institution in the state, located in a thriving multicultural city with an increasingly diverse demographic profile, Westminster occupies a truly unique niche in the crowded higher education marketplace.

Founded in 1875, Westminster was originally established as a preparatory school and became a four-year liberal arts institution in 1949. Over the last 30 years, it has added professional programs in business, nursing and health sciences, and education. The College has a strong academic reputation, deep community and alumni support, and a legacy of providing a student-centered, liberal arts and professional education that transforms lives. It offers an intimate college experience to approximately 2,570 students, including 2,030 undergraduates and 540 graduates.

Reporting to the President and as a key member of the Cabinet, the Vice President of Enrollment Management will inspire the campus around areas of recruitment, admission, and yield, strategically utilizing data to broadly enhance student matriculation and success at the College. The Vice President will bring to campus a depth of experience that guides critical campus decision-making, partnering across units to ensure a consistent and cohesive student experience. Relying on a comprehensive understanding of market trends and prospect development, the Vice President will utilize technology and data analytics to leverage resources and ensure an efficient, effective, and nimble enrollment management unit. To be successful, the Vice President will be capable of directing high-level strategy, engaging in the many fundamental pieces of the enrollment function at a private institution, while addressing the following:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive vision and strategy around undergraduate, graduate, and professional school enrollment.
  • Build and support an environment of collaboration and excellence in the enrollment management unit.
  • Attract, admit, and enroll a diverse pool of qualified students.
  • Promote inclusive excellence across the student experience.
  • Build a strong data and measurement function that leverages the use of technology.
