LEADERSHIP PROFILE & POSITION SUMMARY
Position Summary: Reporting to the Director of Transfer and Dual Enrollment, the Senior Admissions Advisor represents Ohio University both on- and off-campus to a wide variety of constituents, including prospective students and their families, secondary and postsecondary school personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. The Senior Admissions Advisor coordinates, strategizes, and contributes to the success of initiatives designed to identify, attract, and enroll students in Ohio University's undergraduate programs. Plans and implements recruitment activities for an assigned territory or population, including programs and travel activities around Ohio and nationally. Communicates with prospective students and applicants using a high level of personalization and customer service to offer guidance throughout the admission process. May conduct training for staff on enrollment policies and procedures and act as a mentor to resolve nonroutine enrollment management practices. The Senior Admissions Advisors work will play a critical role in fulfilling OHIO's commitment to reducing barriers to education, supporting an inclusive campus community, and building a sense of belonging for all. The anticipated focus of this position will be to work primarily with transfer students.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Senior Admissions Advisor guides prospective undergraduate students through their decision to apply to OHIO and the application process for their selected program. Follows-up on inquiries to engage prospective students in discussion about their goals, and interests. Builds deep knowledge of OHIO's undergraduate programs and effectively communicates program attributes and benefits to prospective students. Communicates OHIO's values, benefits and differentiating features to prospective students.
Development and Execution of Recruitment Plans in Assigned Recruitment Territory: The Senior Admissions Advisor develops and executes recruitment plans for assigned territory and manages activities occurring within the territory or affecting constituents within it. Conducts recruitment travel on a frequent basis in an independent and professional manner for extended periods of time. Initiates, develops, and maintains relationships with constituents within the territory, including prospective students and their families, secondary and postsecondary personnel, community-based organizations, and other individuals or organizations involved in the college selection process. In addition to managing activities within the territory, the Senior Admissions Advisor coordinates and contributes to the success of other initiatives, including on- and off-campus events, designed to identify, attract, admit, and enroll students in Ohio University's undergraduate programs.
Counseling and Advising on Admissions and Enrollment Processes:Builds and manages active pipelines of leads, communicate with prospective students via call campaigns, emails and other forms of communication and utilize database tools to efficiently track each interaction and the progress of all assigned leads. Maintains thorough knowledge of trends in the field of admissions. Maintains consistent contact with prospective students, providing the highest level of customer service to all stakeholders. Keeps track of relevant data and updates CRM to reflect most accurate information for each prospective student.
Assists in strategic development for lead management and communication and admissions processes to achieve program, unit, and university goals. Utilizes internal data and metrics and industry best practices to evaluate performance. Recommends changes based on evaluation to continuously improve outcomes. Collaborates with supervisor to ensure effectiveness in enrollment strategies. Monitors progress toward recruitment, admission, or yield targets for assigned academic programs or populations, and proposes action or adjustments as needed. Continuously looks for opportunities to increase efficiency and effectiveness and creates better methods of engaging with prospective students. Effectively communicates quality of leads and program updates for appropriate cross-functional and internal team members.
Evaluation of Admissions Materials: Evaluates applications and supplemental materials for the purposes of making admission decisions. Conducts thorough, holistic, selective review of an applicant's candidacy. Determines necessary documentation to support an admission decision and recommends appropriate alternative pathways when admission cannot be offered. Serves on Committee Review Panel, representing and deliberating concerns about applicants' candidacy. Monitors and analyzes historical and current recruitment and admission data and trends and uses that information in decision-making.
Collaboration with University Partners: Coordinates and collaborates with members of the Undergraduate Admissions team to develop strategies and guides students throughout the enrollment process. Guides the work of other team members to drive consistency in the admission lifecycle, from inquiry through registration. Interprets policy and procedures to resolve non-routine issues. Collaborates with an assigned academic and/or administrative unit to facilitate integrated recruitment and admission functions and resolve issues of competing priorities. Initiates, develops, maintains relationships with constituents within the unit, possesses an awareness of needs and provides optimal service in fulfilling those needs. Monitors progress toward recruitment, admission, or yield targets for assigned academic programs or populations, and proposes action or adjustments as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
The successful candidate will have a minimum of a bachelor's degree conferred by start date and at least 3-years of related work experience or a master's degree conferred by start date and at least 1-year of related work experience.
Candidates must have the ability to travel independently.
Preferred Qualifications
Candidates with a master's degree are strongly preferred, but not required. Other preferred, but not required, qualifications include being multi-lingual; employment at a community college or managing partnerships with community colleges; direct experience recruiting transfer students; demonstrated interpersonal communication and public speaking skills.

Pay Rate: The exact base salary for the selected candidate will be negotiable, commensurate with education and experience, and competitive in the field within the context of similarly situated positions at public universities nationally.
