The University of South Alabama invites nominations and applications for the position of Vice President for Research and Economic Development (VPRED). The VPRED reports directly to the President and indirectly to the Executive Vice President/Provost. The VPRED is also a member of the President’s Council and interacts closely with other senior leaders, deans, and directors of research centers, institutes, and programs. The VPRED provides leadership for advancing the research and economic development goals of the University of South Alabama.
This position offers an extraordinary opportunity to a bold and inspirational leader with intellectual breadth, strong interpersonal skills, demonstrated expertise in research-driven programs and policies, experience developing and leveraging internal and external partnerships, and success leading diverse, complex teams and/or organizations. The VPRED will bring together researchers from diverse backgrounds to enhance the University’s research collaborations locally, nationally, and internationally.
