Events Operations Coordinator

As the events operation’s coordinator, you will assist in executing and taking down SCAD signature events, exhibitions, receptions, workshops, and more. Your responsibilities will include acting as a liaison with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with university policies. In this role you will assist with budget development, track event-related expenses, and manage event registration processes to ensure a positive experience. As the coordinator you will lead event communication, work closely with cross-functional teams, collaborate with internal stakeholders, and provide on-site event management, serving as the main point of contact.

Minimum Qualifications:   
  • Bachelor's degree in event management, hospitality, business, or related field.
  • Previous experience in event coordination and operations
  • Proficient in event management software and tools with strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative team environment
  • Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in educational or creative institution

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
  • Valid driver’s license

Travel Required:
  • 20-40%

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
