Assistant to the VP for SCAD Atlanta/Dean of Academics

As an assistant, you will be stationed at the main greeting desk on the fifth floor of the SCAD Atlanta building, where you will be responsible for greeting all visitors to the floor and connecting them to their appointment or appropriate resource. You will maintain the vice president and dean’s schedule, serve as a liaison between the vice president, dean, and various departments; and will coordinate meetings (e.g., note taking, agenda preparation, and facility reservations).
You will manage travel and compile information for reports and be responsible for departmental administrative support, including faculty audit maintenance and peer observation assignments; schedule concerns and academic policies and procedures; and weekly and quarterly departmental reports. You will work alongside the vice president and dean, participate in and support scheduled activities for SCAD Days and other events as needed, and will be responsible for tracking departmental budgets and purchase requisitions.
The successful candidate is highly motivated and exhibits a strong sense of personal and professional integrity. Confidentiality, accuracy, and the ability to meet multiple competing deadlines are paramount, as is strong organizational skills. The candidate should be an excellent communicator and work well as both an individual contributor and part of a team.
Minimum Qualifications:
Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.

- Bachelor’s degree in a closely related discipline
- Two years of professional administrative support experience
- Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel
