Opportunity Summary
Reporting to the Executive Vice Presidentfor Administration and Financeand Chief Business Officer, the CIO will provide leadership and strategic vision for information technology across the university. In collaboration with key stakeholders, including administration, faculty, researchers, staff, students, and University System of Georgia, the CIO will work to optimally align IT with the goals, strategic direction and mission of Georgia Tech. The CIO will play an integral role in supporting efforts to achieve administrative excellence and continued growth of the university, such as enrollment, on-line programs, research and improving the student experience. Key initiatives will include optimizing the IT governance structure to ensure the organization's ability to effectively prioritize new technology investments; modernize the IT infrastructure; in partnership with University System of Georgia, selection of a next generation ERP and leading the implementation on the Georgia Tech campus; continuing to advance the cybersecurity program; enhance the research computing environment; and better enable access and utilization of data and analytics.
The successful candidate will be a dynamic, experienced and purpose-driven leader with a history of building high-performing teams and enhancing IT services within a complex and growing academic institution. The CIO will be a collaborative and team-oriented partner who can communicate effectively and build strong relationships with stakeholders across Georgia Tech and within the University of Georgia System, driving programs forward through garnering credibility and consensus. This innovative leader will be creative and knowledgeable about trends in technology supporting education and research. The CIO will be a servant leader who can lead change effectively within a leading research university.
