Description: Applications are invited for a tenure-track position in Computer Science at the assistant or associate professor level, beginning August 2019.

Required Qualifications: Applicants must hold a B.S. degree, preferably in computer science or software engineering. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. degree, or be expected to complete a Ph.D. degree by August 2019, in computer science, software engineering, computer science and engineering, or in a closely related discipline with extensive background in computer science. Applicants must have experience in teaching, either as the instructor of record or as a teaching assistant.

Preferred Qualifications: Some familiarity with ABET in particular and with assessment in general is desirable. Priority will be given to applicants who have excellent academic credentials and a proven ability to teach courses and laboratory sessions effectively, maintaining strong student-faculty interaction.

Candidates from all areas within computer science will be considered. Preferred areas of specialization are operating systems, computer networking (including mobile systems, data center networking, large-scale networking, and cloud computing), programming languages, computer architecture (including energy-efficient architecture, memory technology, RISC design, and security), and distributed and parallel computation.

Duties: The successful candidate will be expected to teach computer science courses, conduct research, supervise students, advise students, and participate in appropriate levels of service to the department, school, university, and the profession.

Compensation: Commensurate with experience and qualifications. Research startup funds and release time for establishing a research program are generally available during the early years of the appointment.

Candidates selected for interview will also need to provide three letters of recommendation.

Background Check: A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate can be offered a position with the CSU.
