Assistant Professor - Legal Psychology
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP) Department of Psychology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Legal Psychology at the Assistant Professor level. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications. The anticipated appointment date is fall 2019.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: A Ph.D. in Psychology or closely related field (by time of appointment), published research, potential to attract external funding, and the ability to teach, direct, and mentor research at the graduate (Masters & Ph.D.) and undergraduate levels. We particularly seek candidates who show the potential to collaborate with existing faculty in the Psychology Department or other departments across UTEP, but promising scholars with research interests in any area of Legal Psychology are encouraged to apply.
ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT: The Psychology Department has 19 tenured and tenure-track faculty members. It offers a nationally recognized doctoral program with a concentration in Legal Psychology, as well as concentrations in Health Psychology, Language Acquisition and Bilingualism, and Social, Cognitive and Neuroscientific Psychology, and a master’s program in Clinical Psychology.

UTEP adds to the arts and entertainment scene with an award-winning dinner theater, music and dance productions, contemporary and student art galleries, and a natural history museum.
For sports fans, the UTEP Miners offer exciting Division I college athletics at Sun Bowl Stadium, the Don Haskins Center, Kidd Field, University Field and the Helen of Troy Softball Complex. Southwest University Park located in lively downtown El Paso is home to the El Paso Chihuahuas, the San Diego Padres AAA baseball team.
