Job Description
The Department of Statistics at the University of Central Florida (UCF) seeks to hire two nine-month, tenure-track assistant professors of statistics anticipated to begin in August 2019. The successful candidates will contribute to teaching in the undergraduate and graduate programs and are expected to develop an externally funded, nationally competitive research program in big data analytics.
A competitive startup package is available. The Department of Statistics at UCF currently offers a B.S. in Statistics, a B.S. in Actuarial Science, an
M.S. in Statistical Computing, with a track in Data Mining, and a Ph.D. in Big Data Analytics.

Position Minimum Qualifications
A Ph.D. in statistics or a closely related field from a regionally accredited institution by the start of appointment is required. All but dissertation (ABD) will be considered as long as the doctorate is completed by the date of hire.
Preferences
Preference will be given to those with teaching experience in data mining and big data analytics, statistical machine learning, or a willingness to teach courses in these areas.
