Assistant Professor

The Clements Department of History in Dedman College of Humanities and Sciences at Southern Methodist University seeks a tenure-track assistant professor in the history of China, beginning fall 2019.  Chronological and thematic specialization is open, and we especially encourage applicants whose research and teaching interests may complement areas of existing departmental strength in social, cultural, and political history; borderlands; comparative and transnational history; and digital humanities.  The successful candidate will be expected to teach broad surveys in Chinese and East Asian history, thematic courses or regional surveys grounded in his or her areas of expertise, and appropriate classes in our graduate program.
