The UCLA Department of Sociology invites applications for one tenure-track position at the assistant professor level, to begin fall 2019, subject to budgetary approval. We welcome applications from scholars in all substantive areas and methodological approaches to sociology whose experience in research, teaching, and community/collegial service has prepared them to contribute to our commitment to excellence and diversity. Candidates are expected to hold a doctoral degree in sociology or a related field by the date of hire, July 1, 2019.

To apply, candidates must submit (a) a cover letter, (b) CV, (c) statement of research (d) statement of teaching , (e) an equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI statement) that describes the candidate's past, present, and future (planned) contributions to equity, diversity, and inclusion (f) writing samples (1-required, but may submit a total of 3) (g) and three letters of recommendation. Applications will be accepted via the UC Recruit web site at beginning August 31, 2018. The deadline for applications to be submitted is September 30, 2018.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
