The College of Education is committed to a teacher-scholar model in which research informs teaching as well as successful classroom and administrative practice. The Educational Leadership Higher Education program offers masters and doctoral degrees (both Ed.D. and Ph.D.).  Faculty who work with higher education students are committed to innovative research agendas and to educating students for the rigorous demands of a diverse, global community. Course offerings and learning opportunities are designed to prepare leaders of courage and authenticity who are equipped for a wide range of leadership positions; have the ability to tackle future challenges and to design programs focused on student engagement and learning; re-imagine the learning process and build an enhanced understanding of learning; operate with a global perspective in a diverse, rapidly evolving field; create new settings now possible through technology; are committed to growth and reflect clear ethical commitments for the education of students. We seek candidates who desire to be key leaders of a dynamic team to create innovative programs of study that meet the challenges of today's rapidly changing educational leadership environment.

JOB DESCRIPTION: This faculty member will:

·         Teach higher educational leadership graduate courses potentially including postsecondary leadership, college student development, history and philosophy of higher education, ethics, diversity and inclusion, research methodologies, and/or other program topics as needed.

·         Conduct and publish peer-reviewed research, and disseminate original work at state, national, and international venues.

·         Effectively supervise doctoral student research, to include chairing dissertation and capstone committees.

·         Assume additional responsibilities including student advising and mentoring, program development, and service.  

 

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1.       An earned doctorate in Educational Leadership, or related field, with an emphasis in Higher Education.

2.       A scholarly research agenda and potential for making national contributions to the field of higher education leadership.

3.       A minimum of 3 years of teaching and/or leadership experience in higher education.

4.       Evidence of strong written and oral communication skills.

5.       An academic record of excellence in research and teaching appropriate to rank.

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1.       Demonstrated commitment to social justice, equity and access.

2.     Five years’ experience as a leader in a higher education setting.

3.     Five years’ experience in teaching in higher education contexts.

4.     A commitment to/or experience with institutional partnerships

5.     Rank of associate or full professor

 

STARTING DATE:   January or August, 2019

 

SALARY:  Commensurate with experience and qualifications.
