2 Positions: Assistant/Associate Professor (FT); Instructor/Assistant Professor (PT)

The University of Tennessee Health Science Center is accepting applications for a full-time, twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the assistant to associate professor level (rank dependent upon credentials and experience) within the College of Medicine's Department of Physician Assistant Studies.

  • Eligibility for Tennessee PA license
  • Continued clinical practice and release time provided by the College of Medicine.  

We are also accepting applications for a part-time (% to be determined), twelve-month, non-tenure track faculty position at the instructor to assistant professor level (rank dependent upon credentials and experience) in the College of Medicine Department of Physician Assistant Studies.

  • Maintenance of outside, active clinical practice

Qualifications for FT & PT positions:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience with participation as a clinical preceptor, a guest speaker/lecturer with an accredited PA program, or 1 year of clinical experience with additional training in teaching, education, or involvement in an academic medical training program (PA, MD, DO).
  • A Master’s degree from an accredited physician assistant program.
  • Current NCCPA certification
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals or groups from diverse backgrounds
  • Submission of a teaching philosophy, or teaching portfolio with application
