John Carroll University

Provost and Academic Vice President

Cleveland, Ohio

John Carroll University (John Carroll or JCU) invites applications and nominations for its next Provost and Academic Vice President (Provost). As one of 28 Jesuit Catholic universities in the United States and the only Jesuit private higher education institution in Northeast Ohio, John Carroll is committed to preparing students for lives of engaged leadership and service through intellectual discovery in liberal arts, sciences, and business education. The institution seeks an inspiring academic leader who will share in its commitment to Jesuit values in higher education.

With more than 3,000 undergraduate and 500 graduate students engaged in over 70 programs of study, the John Carroll education has four aspirational learning goals- intellect, character, leadership, and service- that embody the Jesuit heritage of respect and care for the whole person. The institution is consistently ranked among the top institutions in the Midwest and is nationally recognized for its excellence in student preparedness for professional careers.

The next Provost of John Carroll will work closely with the President, faculty, staff and Board of Directors to develop the University’s next multiyear strategic plan, will continue to support and sustain the nationally recognized and high caliber programs, while building new strength to bolster the academic excellence; and will widely broadcast that student learning is the key focus of John Carroll.
