Perimeter Institute invites applications for one or more tenure-track faculty positions (equivalent to the level of assistant professor) in mathematics and mathematical physics. Exceptional candidates may also be considered for a tenured senior faculty position. The successful applicant will play a leading role in integrating Perimeter's activities in mathematical physics with other research areas at the Institute.
The successful candidate will have a PhD in mathematics, theoretical physics or a closely related field as well as postdoctoral experience, and will have demonstrated exceptional strength in independent research. Interested candidates are asked to submit their curriculum vitae, list of publications, research statement, and equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) statement (describing your experience and plans for creating/advancing a culture of equity and inclusion within the discipline). They must also arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation submitted, following the instructions provided on the application page. Applicants for a senior position can alternatively provide the names of 3 references in place of letters.
Consideration of applications will begin on January 1, 2024. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
All qualified candidates are encouraged to apply; however, Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be given priority. Perimeter Institute is committed to diversity within its community and especially welcomes applications from racialized persons/persons of colour, women, Indigenous/Aboriginal People of North America, persons with disabilities, LGBTQ2 persons, and others who may contribute to the further diversification of ideas.
