As an assistant director of events for SCAD Atlanta, you will meet regularly with the executive director of events to receive and give updates on all previous and upcoming events. You will research, develop, and propose event ideas, concepts, and décor models for the executive director’s approval, remaining consistent with all university event branding across locations.
As part of the events team, you will also be responsible for supporting the coordination and execution of admission events, academic programs, and conferencing events, providing training and development to event staff and attending meetings with all necessary participants. Events vary from year-to-year and include both annual and project-based events in Atlanta, Savannah, and Lacoste and all other destination cities. Attendance of major events is required. Travel will be necessary.
Minimum qualifications:
Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license
Travel required: 20 to 40%
Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.

- Bachelor’s degree in related field and three to five years of related experience, including project management experience
- Extensive knowledge of all aspects of the university
- Excellent communication skills, including writing, listening, and speaking
