Lecturer in Stage Management

The School of Theatre and Dance in the College of the Arts seeks a 12-month Lecturer in Stage Management for a promotion accruing (non-tenure accruing) faculty position. The successful applicant will join the faculty as the school’s Production Stage Manager and work closely with the Producing Director/Senior Lecturer in Stage Management and all artistic and production team members in mentoring the management of productions and processes within a vibrant educational performance season. The Lecturer in Stage Management will contribute as an educator in the stage management curriculum while mentoring 15-20 undergraduate student stage managers in approximately 28 opportunities each season. The School’s 12 month Production schedule has historically included 7 theatre productions, 3 dance productions, and 2-4 lightly produced student showcases over a 12-month production calendar. The Lecturer in Stage Management will be an effective mentor who balances the demands of production with pedagogical realities and navigates complex channels of communication between faculty choreographers and directors, faculty design mentors, faculty and staff production/technology specialists, guest artists, students in design and production roles, and student performers.
