Part time Lecturer

The Division of Social Sciences at the University of Chicago invites applications for appointment as part-time Lecturer in the Department of Comparative Human Development to teach four courses during the 2018-19 academic year. The successful candidate will be appointed for two consecutive academic quarters (either autumn-winter or winter-spring), and will teach two courses per quarter. Subject to the approval of the department chair, the candidate will design and offer three courses appropriate as electives in the department's undergraduate major and one course appropriate as an elective for MA and PhD students. Priority will be given to candidates who can offer courses with a disciplinary focus in anthropology, a substantive focus on religion, gender/sexuality, health, and education, and at least one methodological course offering. Applicants must have the PhD in hand by the start of the appointment. Prior teaching in interdisciplinary training or scholarship is required.

The Department of Comparative Human Development examines issues of central concern to socio-cultural anthropology, medial anthropology, comparative education, behavioral biology, language and thought, and cultural and developmental psychology.
