PROVOST AND VICE CHANCELLOR FOR ACADEMIC AFFAIRS

Texas Christian University invites applications and nominations for the position of Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs.
Texas Christian University (TCU) is a ‘Top 100 National University’ - as classified by U.S. News and World Report – located in Fort Worth, Texas, one of the largest and most dynamic cities in the country. As a Carnegie classified Doctoral/Research University with an undergraduate profile of “More Selective,” TCU boasts an endowment of over $1.5 Billion, and is home to an accomplished student body of more than 10,000 students from around the nation and the globe.

As a liberal arts University, TCU encompasses eight colleges and schools and will soon include a medical school operated in partnership with the University of North Texas Health Science Center, pending anticipated accreditation approval. The nearly 9,000 undergraduate and 1,500 graduate students work closely with a full-time faculty of 669 committed teacher-scholars. The new Provost joins the University during a period of strong undergraduate growth and at the initiation of a new strategic plan – optimally positioned for creativity, innovation, and aspirational thinking.

Reporting directly to the Chancellor, the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs is the chief academic officer of the University and is responsible for all aspects of the University's academic mission. The Provost’s office also serves as a communication link with external constituencies, including the Board of Trustees, multiple accrediting agencies, and other key partners.

The selected candidate will be an accomplished scholar who possesses an earned terminal degree and credentials warranting tenure and the rank of professor in one of the University’s academic units. The next Provost will have an established record of success in academic administration and a leadership style that is visionary, transformative, engaging, and inclusive. The search committee seeks individuals having exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, a demonstrated commitment and passion for creating a diverse and inclusive campus environment, and an appreciation of the multiple missions of a major university.

While applications and nominations will be accepted until a new Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs is selected, interested parties are encouraged to submit their materials to the search firm at the address below by September 30, 2018 to assure optimal consideration. Applications should include a detailed resume/vitae, diversity/inclusion statement and philosophy, and letter of interest.
