Instructor - Soil Science Educator
The position will work with Extension Specialists to develop a soil health education program to address crop production primarily. The position will serve on multi-disciplinary teams related to soil sustainability and resource conservation with Division Scientists, soil and water conservation collaborators, county agents, and other stakeholders. Educational efforts will target crop consultants, row crop producers, the fertilizer industry, etc. as well as upgrade county extension agent knowledge and skill levels in soil health and resource sustainability.
Required: Master of Science degree in Agronomy, Environmental Sciences or related field. Documented excellent communication and interpersonal skills a must. Preferred: Multi-year experience in soil science and land grant university work preferred. Experience in teaching and presentations preferred. Demonstrated technical proficiency in equipment operation, safe driving, pulling trailers, safe use of ATVs, computer skills including GIS and statistical packages, measurement of soil chemical and physical properties in the field.
