As the accompanist, you will be responsible for rehearsing and/or music directing at least one music theater production each year and supporting the vocal ensembles. You will act as the primary accompanist at all audition activities for the department and assist in recruitment/admission events. In this position, you will provide oversight and mentorship to students, provide support for collaborations, and support additional projects as directed by the department chair. As the accompanist, you will musically prepare students for performances and contribute to contracting and rehearing outside musicians for special events.

Work Hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other work days and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in music plus five years of professional experience as a pianist, music director, or composer/arranger
- Significant sight-reading and transposing skills with a clear understanding of vocal pedagogy
- Extensive professional experience preparing singers for performances and a strong familiarity with transcriptions/chart writing and the latest technologies
- Familiar with a wide range of repertoire
- Ability to function as musical director on assigned projects
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in related field or at least 10 years of experience in the field
- Knowledge of music-usage copyright processes and procedures and an established reputation in the industry
- Demonstrated ability as a performance pianist at the highest level in the field
- Knowledge of mediated sound composition and editing software
- Skill in effective coordination and communication with faculty, staff, and administrators
