Central State University is pleased to invite qualified submissions of interest and nominations of candidates to become the next President of this outstanding University.

 

Central State University (CSU), an 1890 Land-Grant University, is located in Wilberforce, OH. One of 13, 4-year public institutions in the State of Ohio, CSU has an on-campus enrollment of 2,000 and an online enrollment via Central State University Global of 3,500. CSU offers bachelor’s degrees in 40 disciplines and an online Master of Business Administration. CSU Global received United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) Certification in 2022 and was ranked #27 for the Best Online Degrees in Ohio by University HQ.

 

It is important that the next president bring a depth of leadership and management experience to capitalize fully on the remarkable talent and commitment of Central State University staff and faculty, inspire CSU students, and encourage CSU alumni and supporters, by promoting a strong sense of community.

 

The next president must build an effective and stable leadership team by demonstrating a management style that draws the team into transparent and collaborative discussions about the issues facing Central State University. The president’s skill at delegating, empowering, actively listening to and evaluating the leadership team to be effective, efficient, and accountable must reach out to the entire Central State University community with transparency to ensure achievement is planned, collaborative, and celebrated.

 

The next president of Central State University will be a creative, inspiring, and thoughtful leader who can give strong articulation to the essential values of the university’s Land Grant research and STEM programs as well as liberal arts education in the context of the professional preparation of the next generation of leaders at CSU. Ultimately, the next president of Central State University must transform CSU into the premier HBCU in Ohio and the region.
