As the social media editor, you will utilize skills in digital editing, color correcting, and audio mixing to create content for the office of the president. Primary video content ranges from small music-driven graphic videos to camera social reels and multi-camera interviews. Essential functions of this position include timely identification of technical and creative obstacles, ideation of creative concepts in post-production, and managing social media video archives on the server.
In this full-time role, you will receive assignments and continually update the director of social media on their status. This position is responsible for outputting all media and managing video rough cuts/fine-cuts for internal review, then outputting fine-cuts to different formats. You will organize and archive all finished projects with metadata, produce audio for post-production, and will generate ideas for new videos. As the social media editor, you will execute visual finishing, including color correction, masking, smoothing, and GFX integration. Additional responsibilities include preparing videos for web publishing, conducting periodic reports on projects, and delivering files to the college streaming server using knowledge of bandwidth issues, encoding, streaming protocols, file formats, and codecs. You will ingest, process, and transcode all new media.
The ideal candidate will approach all assignments with enthusiasm and creativity, working collaboratively with other editors, producers, and videographers to create excellent content. Promptly arriving for work, actively communicating via Slack, and meeting deadlines is expected.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree
- 5 years of relevant experience in video editing for social media platforms
- Skilled at using Adobe Premiere Pro and After Effects
- Ability to edit MXF file types
- Experience with DaVinci Resolve
- Strong working knowledge of latest editing styles, techniques, and equipment
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Photoshop, Pro Tools, or other audio correction software
- Interest in art, fashion, and design
