Illinois State University and the School of Information Technology invite applications for one tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Cybersecurity, beginning August 2024.

Responsibilities: Teach undergraduate/graduate courses in various areas of cybersecurity such as digital forensics, incident response, and server management, develop a focused area of scholarly research related to the technical, organizational, or human-centered dimensions of cybersecurity, or other related areas, to publish in high-quality outlets, supervise graduate students, and provide service to the School, College, University, profession, and community. We are particularly interested in applicants with a demonstrated interest in mentoring first-generation students and those from other traditionally under-represented groups. Candidates are expected to take an integrative approach to working with faculty, staff, and students from various backgrounds within and outside the School.

The School: The School of Information Technology (it.illinoisstate.edu) is one of eight units in the College of Applied Science and Technology. The School offers undergraduate majors in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, and Computer Networking, and two Master of Science programs: Computer Science and Information Systems. The undergraduate Cybersecurity program is certified as CAE-CD. The undergraduate CS and IS programs are accredited by ABET. The School has approximately 900 undergraduate and 150 graduate students and 28 full-time faculty.

Required Qualifications

1)Hold a doctoral degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a closely related field. Applicants with expected completion of the doctoral degree before May 2025 will be considered.

2)Candidates must demonstrate oral proficiency in the English language as a requirement for this position, as mandated by state law.
