About the Position

The Coordinator regularly interacts with regional and inter/national representatives, community members, and campus partners. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate across differences, and can develop positive and professional working relationships with students, coworkers, campus partners and representatives. The Coordinator facilitates the overall growth and development of a diverse, inclusive and vibrant fraternity and sorority life community at CSUN. Specifically, the Coordinator:

• advises the Interfraternity Council and Panhellenic Council,
• develops and facilitates leadership and hazing prevention trainings, and
• enforces policy to promote safe and effective intake/recruitment processes.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to graduation from a four-year college or university in a related field.
• Upper division or graduate course work in counseling techniques interviewing and conflict resolution where such are job related, is preferred.
• Equivalent of three (3) years of progressively responsible professional student services work experience; including one year of fraternity and sorority life coordination preferred.
• A Master's degree in Counseling, Clinical Psychology, Social Work, or a directly related field may be substituted for one year of experience.

Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

• The university offers an excellent benefits package, including but not limited to: medical, dental, vision, retirement & savings, tuition waiver and more.
• Classification / grade: SSP III
• The anticipated HIRING RANGE: $5025 - $5406 per month, dependent upon qualifications and experience. The salary range for this classification is: $5025 - $7159 per month.
• HOURS: Full Time; 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday; includes frequent evenings and weekends.
• LOCATION: Position works physically on campus in the Matador Involvement Center. This is not a telecommute position.
• REG: This is a Regular position with a one-year probationary period.
