Vice President for Enrollment Management

Kent State University, a top-tier national university and the largest public multi-campus system in Ohio, with campuses serving nine local communities and an enrollment of more than 39,000 students, seeks an experienced, collaborative, and strategic professional to oversee all aspects of enrollment management. A newly created position, the Vice President for Enrollment Management will imagine, build, and execute a new and ambitious vision for enrollment at Kent State, enhancing all measures of enrollment success.

Kent State is proud of its outstanding faculty and staff, students, collaborative culture, exceptional academic and research orientation, and strong commitment to engagement, academic excellence and diversity. The university’s Kent Campus has a student body of more than 28,000 and a thriving residential population of more than 6,500 students. Its seven regional campuses draw full-time and part-time students, now totaling more than 11,000, from across Northeast Ohio. Dr. Beverly J. Warren became the university’s 12th president on July 1, 2014 and has led Kent State to a new era of energy and passion. Building on this forward momentum, the University last year launched a new vision: To be a community of change agents whose collective commitment to learning sparks epic thinking, meaningful voice, and invaluable outcomes to better our society.

Reporting to President Warren and partnering closely with the Executive Vice President and Provost, the Vice President for Enrollment Management will bring greater strategy, coordination, and analytical rigor to every phase of the enrollment process. The Vice President will serve on the President’s Cabinet and provide leadership for undergraduate admissions, financial aid, registrar, the One Stop for Student Services, and transfer recruitment and services, and lead an enrollment effort that is highly coordinated with, and responsive to, the needs of the colleges and campuses. The new leader will provide collaborative support for graduate and international recruitment and partner across the university to deliver the optimal enrollment program for Kent State to meet its short- and long-term enrollment goals and facilitate success in recruitment, retention, and student support for the future.

The successful candidate will be a proven and forward-thinking enrollment leader with a demonstrated commitment to diversity in all its forms, excellence and access. The new enrollment leader will possess the skill to lead enrollment in a complex environment; exceptional analytical capacity and technological sophistication; and an understating of holistic enrollment with attention to the entire student lifecycle. The personal values of integrity, teamwork, and compassion, as well as the ability to always put students first, are essential. A master’s degree is required; a doctoral degree is preferred.
