Job Summary:


Reporting to the Vice President for Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, the Director of DEI Programs is responsible for developing, implementing, and ongoing assessment of initiatives and projects. The position will assist the VP-DEI with operationalizing the college's DEI strategic plan. The Director of DEI Programs represents the Office of Diversity across campus and provides collaborative leadership to ensure that DEI is embedded in all aspects of college life. This position will work collaboratively with the Center for Multicultural Affairs, the Diversity Council, the Title IX Office, the Office of Accommodations and Accessibility, and other campus organizations engaged in fostering diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree required
  • At least three years working in a DEI related role with DEI experience


Essential Functions:


  • Create and develop new DEI programs.
  • Address the needs of underrepresented communities on campus by providing ongoing support.
  • Coordinate and support existing DEI initiatives.
  • Provide DEI learning opportunities that address and respond to the needs of students, faculty, and staff
  • Serve as key contact DEI person for students, faculty, and staff
  • Participate in conducting a comprehensive, ongoing audit and assessment of all DEI programs to ensure continuous improvement and impact
  • Coordinate and facilitate the annual Diversity Summit
  • Work with office staff and student workers to create and maintain DEI archives
  • Participate in creating and maintaining the DEI resources database.
  • Work with faculty, staff, and students to promote the college's DEI agenda by offering workshops and providing ongoing awareness activities.
  • Develop and coordinate a yearly calendar of events.
  • Communicate and publicize DEI activities, programs, and events regularly.
  • Create and manage the DEI Program portfolio, including developing a program dashboard and scorecard and defining meaningful program success metrics.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to all stakeholders.
  • Work with the DEI Fellow to manage projects.
  • Other Duties as assigned


Preferred Qualifications:


  • Master's Degree
  • Director level DEI experience
  • At least five years' experience in DEI programming
    • Demonstrated understanding of DEI in higher education.
    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff from diverse backgrounds.
