Position Summary

The Precision Health Program (PHP) at Michigan State University is accepting applications for two Assistant to Full Professor positions (tenure system); rank will be determined by qualifications. PHP is a newly established university-wide vigorous program consisting of five laboratories conducting independent research in the areas of cancer, diabetes, cardiovascular diseases and nanobiotechnologies (https://precisionhealth.msu.edu/). The successful candidates will be highly motivated and innovative scientists with a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences, 8-10 years of research experience and a track record of excellence in either of the areas of cancer stem cell biologyorcancer nanotechnology, with the aim to hire two candidates; one in each specialization. 

Specific candidate experience sought is as follows for each specialization:

Cancer stem cell biology: Familiarity with application of in vivo imaging to research is a plus. 

Cancer nanotechnology: Familiarity with application of nanoparticle carriers for therapy and in vivo imaging is a plus. 

The candidates are expected to establish their lab with sustainable research programs, participate in collaborative research, make significant scholarly contributions to their respective disciplines, obtain extramural funding, and engage in institutional and professional service and education.

 

Required Degree

Doctorate - Biomedical Sciences

Minimum Requirements

Cancer stem cell biology: PhD in biomedical sciences with 8-10 years of research experience in biomedical sciences, experience in cancer stem cell biology, experiment design and execution and data analysis.

Cancer nanotechnology: PhD in biomedical sciences with 8-10 years of research experience in biomedical sciences, experience in nanoparticle formulation, experiment design and execution and data analysis.

 

Desired Qualifications

Cancer stem cell biology: Hands-on experience with cancer stem cells, analytical assays, testing and imaging 

Cancer nanotechnology: Hands-on experience with nanomaterial formulations, analytical assays, testing and imaging
