Assistant/Associate Professor of Exercise Science

The College of Education at Dakota State University in Madison, South Dakota invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant or Associate Professor in Exercise Science position with a start date of January 2024 or August 2024. The position is a 9-month, full-time, benefit-eligible, tenure-track position. Rank will be determined based on the applicant’s qualifications and experience.

Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will be expected to deliver excellence in teaching and integrate technology into the learning process.

  • Depending upon qualifications, teaching responsibilities may include, but are not limited to, courses in Exercise Science, Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, and Nutrition programming.

  • Additional responsibilities include helping DSU develop a new biomechanics program, and may include lab supervision, practicum supervision, student advisement about healthcare professional schools, research, committee work, and service to the university, discipline, and/or community.

  • The successful candidate will be encouraged to have an active research agenda that aligns with program goals including integration of technology and artificial intelligence.

Required Qualifications:

  • Requirements include an earned doctorate (may consider ABD) in Exercise Science or a related field.

  • Effective written, oral, and interpersonal skills.

Dakota State University is the home of the first Teachers’ College in the Dakota Territories.
