Director, Post-Award Administration

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center (http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/) which ranks among the top academic medical centers in the world, seeks a leader and a highly accomplished director to lead the Post-Award Administration within the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration.

 

Reporting to UT Southwestern’s Assistant Vice President for Sponsored Programs Administration (SPA), the Director of Post-Award will direct and coordinate post-award activities for the Office of Sponsored Programs Administration. In this role, the Director is responsible for leading, managing and overseeing all activities for the timely management of research grant awards from external sponsors including federal, state, local, private agencies. The Director works closely and effectively with the Director of Pre-Award to ensure financial obligations are coordinated and met including prior approvals.

 

The Director will bring strong analytical, organizational and leadership skills as well as strong written and oral communication skills. He/she must have a Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business administration or a related field (an advanced degree preferred) and at least seven years of progressively related experience to include at least three years in supervisory capacity. The Director will also have the demonstrated ability to foster a culture of customer service, professionalism, and proficiency; an inclusive and engaging approach with a wide range of individuals and groups across all levels of a large organization, including a collaborative style with research administration, faculty members, department administrators, and management teams; and the ability to be proactive in resolving potential areas of concern or conflict. Deep knowledge of financial and compliance functions involved in managing a University post-award environment and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations, with excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills are required.
