Kansas State University seeks a dynamic, distinguished leader to serve as its Chief Technology Officer (CTO). Kansas State is the first operational land-grant university in the country that has grown into a Tier 1 research university serving more than 20,000 students, 1,300 faculty members, 2,900 staff members and four campuses.

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) serves as the university's senior information technology executive and leads and manages the Division of Information Technology (DIT), the university's enterprise IT organization. The CTO provides vision, leadership, strategic planning, and oversight for information technology throughout all functions and campuses of Kansas State University. The CTO will lead the university-wide strategic use of information technology to enable success in achieving the university's teaching, research and engagement missions, provide excellent service and support to all constituents at K-State, and ensure effective and efficient academic and administrative functions.

In this role, the CTO will:

• Establish the strategic direction for information technology at K-State by providing vision, leadership, strategic planning, and oversight in alignment with the university's mission and strategic priorities

• Lead the facilitation and coordination of university IT strategic planning, prioritization, and governance

• Provide forward-thinking innovative leadership in selecting new methods and establishing modern technology efficiencies across the university in addition to building on current processes and practices

• Serve as the senior information technology advisor to the Vice President for Administration and Finance as well as other University leaders on issues related to IT strategic planning, policies, technology investments, and risk management and as a spokesperson for the University on matters related to university information technology and services

The successful candidate must have a record of experience as a strategic leader who is customer and business driven with a demonstrated commitment to customer service and the ability to integrate business and technology strategies to improve an institution's overall programs and services. Ten or more years of information management or IT management with some experience at or near the executive level. Higher education experience preferred. Additionally, a bachelor's degree is required, an advanced degree is preferred.
