LC State invites applications for the position of Assistant Women's Basketball Coach/Fitness Center Coordinator

Salary and rank based on experience and qualifications: $46,052

Degree Required:

  • Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university

    Required Qualifications:

  • Previous basketball coaching and/or college basketball participation experience
  • Experience in athletic equipment management, preferably at a collegiate institution
  • Knowledge of sports equipment and facility needs

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university
  • Knowledge of NAIA and Frontier Conference
  • Ability to develop and foster mutually beneficial relationships within the college and community.


    1. Evaluate and recruit prospective student-athletes to LCSC by identifying academically qualified and athletically talented prospective student-athletes, communicating and building relationships with prospects, prospect parents, and prospect coaches. Encouraging prospect application and matriculation.
    2. Coordinate campus recruiting visits. Instruct team members, individually and in groups, in sport-related skills and techniques, particularly in skills and events as assigned by the Head Coach.
    3. Assist in planning and implementing of all aspects of the women's basketball program, including team organization and composition, player selection and evaluation, practice planning and supervision, and competition planning, scouting, and strategy.
    4. Participate directly and/or advise the Head Coach on matters related to team discipline, player counseling, etc., requiring discretion, sound decision-making, and independent judgment.
    5. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach and/or supervising athletic administrator.
    6. Organize, market, and coach at youth camps, youth clinics, and other camps as needed.
    7. Exercises independent judgment in overseeing the operation of an athletic equipment room.
    8. Oversees and manages the scheduling of student workers and oversees all practice and game laundry.
    9. Performs other program management duties related to athletic equipment.
    10. Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours
    11. Other duties:
    a. 2-week commitment to assist with NAIA World Series administration.
    b. Assist throughout the year with Alumni tracking, events, etc.
