Professor of Architectural History

SCAD Savannah seeks a professor to join its team of architectural history faculty and guide students through the investigation ofSouth Asian and/or East Asian architecture and urbanism with the ability to teach broader traditions of global architecture.Along with other faculty in the department, you will develop students’ acumen for creative inquiry, advanced research, critical thinking, various methodological approaches, and effective oral and written communication skills.

The department offers both undergraduate and graduate degree programs in architectural history: a four-year B.F.A. degree and a two-year M.F.A. degree. Students from diverse disciplines benefit from the architectural history expertise of our faculty, including students majoring in furniture design, preservation design, the top-ranked interior design program (Design Intelligence), and the university’s distinctive architecture program with its Integrated Path to Architecture Licensure, which leads to the NAAB-accredited M.Arch. degree. Housed in the SCAD School of Building Arts, the architectural history department also supports study abroad programs at the university’s location in Lacoste, France.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Ph.D. in architectural history or a related field.
• Academic and professional credentials to teach in the desired area of specialization.
• Teaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Experience in or knowledge of related professions.
