Academic Operations Manager

As a full-time academic operations manager, you will support your portfolio of academic departments with budget creation and management, class schedules, and building management. You will assist with project management for school-based initiatives such as the recruitment process, writing and reviewing content for workshops and presentations, participating in interviews, and more, and will also maintain a visible presence in the buildings of your assigned departments. You will prepare research and notes for high-profile events (e.g., quarterly faculty conferences, SCAD signature events, commencement, etc.), provide quality assurance and editorial support for university reports and enrollment communications, and assist with the recruitment process.

Among other duties, you will establish quality control mechanisms that ensure efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness of daily operations, especially relating to travel and event support requests and school-based project management. You will also attend department, school, and other academic and operational meetings as required; ensure compliance with university administrative policies and procedures; and ensure alignment with the university's strategic plan and priorities for school-based initiatives proposed by the assigned departments.

The successful candidate has a results-oriented approach to projects and exhibits strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Highly organized and detail-oriented, the candidate can multitask and manage deadlines with ease and without sacrificing accuracy. Stellar interpersonal and communication abilities are a must, as is a working knowledge of accounting, budget planning, and financial forecasting. The candidate should also possess excellent time-management skills.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Arts degree in a related discipline
  • Three to five years of relevant professional experience
  • Expertise in computer applications and databases


Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
  • Valid driver's license
  • Acceptance as a SCAD authorized driver


Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
