Pitzer College (Pitzer), a top-ranked liberal arts and sciences college that is part of The Claremont Consortium, invites inquiries, applications, and nominations for the position of Assistant Vice President of Admissions (AVPA).

 

A newly created role reporting to the Vice President for Admission and Financial Aid (VPAFA), the AVPA is a key leader in helping to develop and execute strategies to attract and enroll an intellectually curious, talented, and diverse incoming class that embraces the mission, vision, and values of Pitzer and meets institutional goals. The AVPA will assist the VPAFA with the administration, supervision, strategic planning, and analysis of the enrollment division of the College.

 

The AVPA will manage a team that oversees the College’s prospective student pipelines, data management systems, and relationships with external partners to employ effective enrollment strategies to identify, attract, admit, enroll, and retain qualified students. They will manage the first-year and transfer application evaluation processes and will coordinate with the Senior Associate Director of Operations to support prospect analysis and data integrity across the College. The AVPA will also direct all international recruitment goals and international file evaluation for the College. Representing the enrollment team on college committees will be an essential function of this position, as well as representing the College on the national and international level to external constituencies. Additionally, the position will contribute to the traditional admission work of the Enrollment team, including the management of a set of geographic territories for recruitment and evaluation of applications.

 

A bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution and a minimum of ten years of experience in higher education admission/counseling and at least 5 years of management/supervisory experience is required. An advanced degree, along with experience with Technolutions Slate and a small private college environment is preferred.
