Professor of Animation

SCAD Savannah, named among the world’s top animation schools and among the “Ivy League of Animation” by 3D World magazine, seeks a full-time professor to join its animation department.

As an animation professor, you will use your advanced knowledge of digital media and 2D/3D animation to prepare the next generation of cinematic artists. You will help develop and extend students’ awareness of story, design, audience, and collaboration in production; model professionalism and positive leadership; and will also participate in on-ground and virtual events as required to support the animation department and university (e.g., faculty councils, admission events, exhibitions, etc.), among other duties.

The successful candidate demonstrates a keen understanding of commercial and independent filmmaking and has an exceptional ability to bring complex scenes and characters to life. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, and the candidate should be able to thrive in individual and team environments. Using these stellar interpersonal skills, the candidate knows how to collaborate effectively with all stakeholders, including administration, faculty, and staff. Organization and a keen eye for detail are essential.

Requirements:
• Terminal degree in animation or a related discipline
• Proficient in industry-relevant software
• Reel, website, or flatbook of your own character-performance work that displays the animation process AND, if applicable, a reel, website, or flatbook that displays your former students’ work.
