Develop and administer degree programs in entrepreneurship, provide expertise to entrepreneurs and local businesses, and lead and support other activities related to entrepreneurship

Primary Purpose of Position:
The new Thomas Family Distinguished Professor of Entrepreneurship will work with the Thomas Entrepreneurship HUB staff and the School of Business faculty, lead research efforts of the Thomas HUB, develop experiential learning, develop the Entrepreneurship curriculum, and provide leadership in the development of major grant proposals for external funding.
The candidate must maintain active scholarship and HUB involvement.

Job Description:

The successful candidate will have a demonstrated record of strong teaching, prior experience with program development for entrepreneurship, outreach with local entrepreneurial efforts, grant writing, and research in Entrepreneurship. The candidate will also lead the research efforts of the School of Business and the Thomas Entrepreneurship HUB, develop the Entrepreneurship curriculum, provide leadership in the development of major grant proposals for external funding, be knowledgeable across a range of entrepreneurial efforts, and provide this expertise to entrepreneurs and local businesses, lead and support other activities related to entrepreneurship including entrepreneurship summits and business plan competitions.

The position calls for program development where the candidate is expected to work with the Thomas Entrepreneurship HUB, the Small Business Technology Development Center (SBTDC), and the School of Business faculty to develop and administer academic coursework and degree programs in Entrepreneurship. The candidate must maintain active scholarship and HUB involvement. Consequently, she/he will teach two Entrepreneurship courses per semester and help design additional coursework including certificate programming, as well as develop and facilitate internship opportunities for students. The candidate will have other typical faculty assignments, such as advising and committee assignments. The candidate will seek funding sources for entrepreneurship education and other support for student entrepreneurship while expanding funding opportunities for developing entrepreneurship across campus. The candidate should enhance the School of Business by maintaining research projects in collaboration with students and/or faculty members that lead to publication in peer-reviewed journals.
