Professor of Foundation Studies
SCAD seeks a full-time professor of foundation studies to instruct talented students in the university’s award-winning SCADnow online learning program.
A strong foundation is integral to academic and artistic success, and the SCAD foundation studies program builds the visual, conceptual, and creative abilities that are essential to students’ development as professionals. In this role, you will conduct classes using the online learning platform Blackboard. You will teach first-year students in synchronous and asynchronous classes that address beginning drawing, life drawing, drawing for design, digital drawing; 2D, 3D, and 4D design; color theory, visual design systems, and creative-thinking strategies. Among other duties, you will also serve on departmental and college-wide committees.
The successful candidate should be experienced with and enthusiastic about working with students and faculty from diverse backgrounds. Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite is preferred.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Terminal degree (or equivalent) in the discipline or in a relevant field.
- Academic and professional credentials to teach in a certain discipline.
- Experience in or knowledge of related professions.
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
Certificates, licenses and registrations: Ability to be credentialed through SACS guidelines or justified to teach
