Staff Recruiter

As a staff recruiter at SCAD, you will be responsible for staff selection in departments determined by the senior director of staff recruiting and will collaborate with supervisors to determine where there are needs. The ideal candidate will find strategic and creative solutions for sourcing and expanding staff while developing and maintaining contacts with organizations, agencies, and communities for recruitment purposes. As a recruiter you will participate in recruitment events where you will determine appropriate venues for advertising open positions. As needed you will be expected to write advertisements.

Staff recruiters must manage applicants and postings in PageUp which includes prescreening résumés, forwarding qualified candidates to the department, and arranging interviews. You will then participate in the interview, evaluating candidates with supervisors to make the best decision. When selecting staff, the recruiter is responsible for extending the formal offer of employment, initiating paperwork, completing background checks, and conducting reference checks. In addition, you will maintain applicant files for retention purposes while ensuring the confidentiality of all information.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Two to three years of experience in human resources and higher education
  • Proven results recruiting utilizing various social media platforms

Travel required: 10 to 20%

Certificates, licenses, and registrations: Valid driver’s license

Work Hours:The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
