Germanna Community College invites applications and nominations for the inaugural Associate Vice President (AVP) for the Division of Health Sciences. Germanna seeks an accomplished leader to develop and advance a vision of interdisciplinary health education, focused on student success and outcomes that address the diverse health and wellness needs of the region. This position represents an opportunity to continue the successes of programs at Germanna with a focus on improving, sustaining, and advancing the health sciences education at the college.

Germanna is a top ranked community college in Fredericksburg, Virginia, is Recognized as an Aspen Institute Top 150 Community College and is proudly designated as a military friendly college. The College is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges, as well as health sciences program specific accreditations in Nursing (Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), Physical Therapist Assistant (Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education (CAPTE), Dental Assistant & Dental Hygiene (Commission on Dental Accreditation (CODA).

The newly formed Division of Health Sciences will bring together established programs in nursing, dental assisting, dental hygiene, physical therapy assisting, and surgical technician. The AVP is responsible for the College’s strategic planning (including the development and management of long- and short-range plans), program evaluation and development, corporate outreach, fundraising, enrollment and market planning, and the management of its administrative and financial affairs (including faculty/staff management and budget/facilities planning and oversight). A direct report to the Vice President, Academic Affairs and Workforce Development, the AVP will also serve as a member of the VP’s Academic Leadership Council and work closely with faculty, community partners, and the VPAA to address the diverse health and wellness needs of the region through innovative credit and non-credit programs, and curricular and co-curricular programming that supports a strong culture of health and engagement. An emphasis on diversity, student access and success, innovation, rural health care, experiential learning, and community partnerships is foundational to the Division of Health Sciences.

The salary range for this role is $124,230 - $144,799 with a generous benefits package.
