The Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, located in New York City, invites applications and nominations for the position of Senior Director (Senior Director) of Scholarly Technologies.

Reporting to the Dean, Vice President, and Deputy Chief Information Officer (Dean and Deputy CIO), the Senior Director of Scholarly Technologies is a creative and dynamic leader responsible for the core student and faculty technology-focused platforms and services within the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai. The Senior Director and their team will work closely with Mount Sinai’s Digital and Technology Partners group and School-based technology teams to support scholarly-focused service delivery and improve access to technology resources across the school community.

 

Additional responsibilities will include partnering with key stakeholders to develop a new academic systems strategy that will support next-generation student platforms, learning environments, and a diverse community of global learners and working with service delivery teams to re-imagine in- person technology support services within our libraries.

 

The Senior Director will lead the Scholarly Technologies program and partner closely with the organization's school, research, clinical, operational, and technology stakeholders. The Senior Director will ensure that related practices, policies, and plans are free from bias and discrimination in all their forms. The role will utilize an inclusive, cooperative, and consensus-building process to manage efforts, work with stakeholders, and make decisions.  

 

The Senior Director oversees 10 staff and manages an annual operating budget of $2M+. The role co-chairs the School’s Academic Technologies Committee and participates in a variety of key working groups, including technology steering, community safety, and emergency planning. The Senior Director is a key representative of the School within Mount Sinai’s Digital & Technology Partners team, participating in governance and planning meetings related to cyber security, service delivery, and portfolio management. The role will also partner on key initiatives with the Dean of Scientific Computing and the Dean of Education and Research Administration.

 

It is preferred that strong candidates for the role of Senior Director hold a Master’s Degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience, as well as demonstrate effective leadership and management experience. This role will report onsite (ISMMS/MSHS Manhattan campus) at an 80% minimum.

 

Salary for the role is currently anticipated to range from $170,000 to $225,000, based on experience and ability to have broad and early impact. The compensation package includes medical, dental, and vision insurance, 403(b) matching and a non-elective contribution, PTO and Paid Sick Leave, as well as short- and long-term disability, life insurance, FSA/HSA, EAP, and paid and discretionary holidays.
