Job Description

The Department of English at the University of Nevada, Reno is hiring a Postdoctoral Scholar in Cinema and Media Studies (non-tenure track) with an anticipated start date of July 1, 2023. English has a growing minor in this area, and this position will contribute to the minor through the teaching of a required intro to film studies course and occasional upper-level courses in film and/or literary studies. The teaching load is 2-2, and the period of appointment is for two years.

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Film Studies, English or a related field.
  • Completion of a doctoral degree in the appropriate discipline is required.
  • The doctoral degree must have been completed within the five years immediately preceding the first date of appointment as a postdoctoral fellow at the University.
  • The individual cannot have held previous positions in the professional ranks.
