Internists positions, ambulatory care and teaching

The Division of General Internal Medicine within the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Iowa Carver College of Medicine is seeking internists for appointment at the rank of Associate, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor.

We are looking for applicants who:

  • Have a passion for ambulatory care and teaching (residents and medical students)
  • Desire to be part of a stimulating academic environment
  • Have a strong interest in professional development; our faculty members have opportunities to acquire skills in:
    • Teaching, both didactic and clinical
    •  Quality improvement
    •  Conducting scholarly projects

We encourage and support involvement in professional society activities.Our clinician educators also have assumed important institutional leadership roles in education, quality improvement, and administration.

Successful candidates will join a growing and innovative outpatient primary care practice located at the Iowa River Landing, a multispecialty clinic with onsite lab, imaging, procedure suite and pharmaceutical services.They will establish a full or part-time general internal medicine practice through a combination of faculty, same-day access, and resident-teaching clinics.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate outstanding skills in teaching, clinical medicine, decision making, communication, and collaboration.Previous experience as a clinician educator is preferred.Applicants must have an MD or DO degree and be authorized to work in the U.S.
