Limited-Term Faculty Position in the Department of Biology (Genetics)

The Department of Biology at The University of Western Ontario invites applications for a full-time Limited-Term faculty appointment at the rank of Lecturer or Assistant Professor, depending on qualifications and experience, to participate in the delivery of undergraduate Biology 2290F/G, a core laboratory course in the Biology and Bachelor of Medical Sciences program modules at Western University. The appointment is expected to be effective September 1, 2018. The successful candidate will be appointed to the Department of Biology. The initial appointment will be up to three years in duration and may be renewable.  Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is specific to the Genetics Module of Biology 2290F/G, and forms part of a team of faculty dedicated to the delivery of second-year Biology Laboratory instruction at Western University. The position has an 80% Teaching/20% Service workload distribution. Teaching duties are twelve sections of the Biology 2290F/G Genetics Module, in both Fall and Winter terms, plus another section during Intersession. Service duties will include departmental, faculty, university and professional committee work, as appropriate.

Requirements:

● A PhD in Biology, Genetics or related fields with experience teaching at the university level, or an MSc in one of the aforementioned disciplines with significant teaching experience at the university level
